It reads every document
When a document arrives, Clivio suggests a title, works out what kind of document it is and sums it up in two or three sentences. It also notes the date, the amount, the due date and the companies or people mentioned, with their contact details. On an invoice it goes as far as the VAT and the line items. Scans and photos are read the same way, and a Factur-X invoice is read straight from the XML embedded in it.

What Clivio picks out of a document doesn’t stay on its record. An invoice’s due date shows up in your calendar, and a lunch receipt becomes an expense waiting for your approval.

A PDF, a Word file or a photo of a receipt, wherever it came from. Clivio pulls out what matters, gives it a title you can read and files it in your smart folders. A graph then shows what is linked to what, across documents, organizations, people and tasks.

Businesses in France already have a place for their e-invoices.
From September 1, 2026, every VAT-registered business in France has to be able to receive electronic invoices, and small and mid-sized companies start sending them a year later. When a Factur-X invoice arrives, Clivio reads the data in its embedded XML, so the amounts and VAT come through exactly as issued. Clivio is not a certified e-invoicing platform. It files what your platform sends you.
You, and the people you send a share link to. For the analysis, the content goes through the Google Gemini API, partly in the United States, under standard contractual clauses. Clivio doesn’t sell your data or use it to train a model of its own. Your files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can turn on two-factor authentication with an app or by text message.
What files can I put in?
The usual office files, up to 25 MB each. That covers PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OpenDocument files, CSV, photos (JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC) and plain text. The AI reads all of them, scans and photos included, and Google Docs, Sheets or Slides imported from Drive are converted on the way in.
How is it different from Google Drive or Dropbox?
A drive stores your files. Clivio reads them. It knows a PDF is a lease, sums up its clauses, files it with your housing papers and offers to track its deadlines. You search for “insurance this year” instead of a file name. And the files you already keep in Drive or Dropbox can be imported.
What happens when I reach 50 documents?
Nothing disappears, and you can still open and search your documents. To add more, delete a few or switch to Pro. The 50 documents are a total and don’t renew each month. Only AI actions reset, on the 1st of every month.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. In the settings, you can download a ZIP archive of all your files and data whenever you like. If you delete your account from the app, the deletion becomes final after 30 days, and you can cancel it until then.
Can several people use Clivio together?
Not yet. One account is for one person, although with Pro your accountant can already view your receipts read-only. If a team plan would help you, write to us and we’ll put you on the waiting list.
