DEFINITION
The EU regulation on personal data. Among other things, it gives you the right to access your data, correct it, take it with you and have it erased. In Clivio, you can export all your files and data as a ZIP archive from the settings, and delete your account from the app. The deletion takes effect after 30 days.
Your rights
The GDPR has applied across the European Union since May 2018 and gives you control over your personal data. You can ask an organization for a copy of what it holds (access), have it corrected (rectification) or erased (erasure), limit its use (restriction), get it back in a usable format (portability), object to some processing and withdraw a consent you gave.
At Clivio, these rights cover every user, wherever they live. Write to contact@clivio.app and you get an answer within one month. You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, or to the authority of your own country.
Exporting and deleting, in practice
Two rights work without writing to anyone. From Settings › My data, you download a ZIP archive of all your files and data, up to three times a day. And you delete your account from the app: the deletion becomes final after 30 days, and you can cancel it until then. After that, the account and its documents are erased. Only subscription invoices are kept, for 10 years, because French law requires it.
Where your data goes
Your files are stored in the European Union, but part of the processing happens in the United States, notably server functions and the AI analysis through the Google Gemini API. These transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Clivio doesn’t sell your data or use it for targeted advertising. When your documents contain other people’s data, you remain the controller of that data and Clivio acts as your processor, under its data processing agreement. The privacy policy lists every provider.
